Journal.
Just a collection of ideas, thoughts, and things I’m still working through.
Things that cost something to write.
Some are short.
Some are long.
All are honest.
If you’re looking for something polished, you might not find it here.
But if you’re in a season of rethinking how you lead, how you work, or how you live?
Hopefully something here will meet you where you’re at.
Enough ideas to ruin your business
I came across a quote recently that caught me off guard. At first, I laughed. Then I felt a bit sick. Then I wrote it down.
The masks we wear.
What started as a polished website became a mirror. The further I tried to perfect the story, the more the truth pushed through the cracks. This is what’s left when the mask finally comes off.
Artificial intelligence: Wherever you go, there you are.
The AI conversation is loud right now. Louder than it’s ever been.
And at River, our position is clear.
The drawbridge and the grass: How we heal, retreat, and begin again
After something painful, most of us do the same thing.
It doesn’t really matter what shape it takes.
Something breaks, and we retreat.
Moving forward: Men’s Health Week
Last week was Men’s Health Week. I wasn’t planning to post anything. Clearly, very few of us were.
Because as the days passed, I kept noticing how quiet it felt.
How do we help the quiet ones?
Some people shout when they need help.
Others stay quiet.
And more often than not, it’s the quiet ones we need to worry about most.
RISE2025. The weight of an industry
A reflection on the RISE Conference in Sydney and the conversations real estate needs to start having. About pressure, burnout, and supporting the people behind the performance.
The things we carry
Not all wounds heal with time.
Some just become part of you.
And somehow, you keep going.
Lessons from Hands Across the Water
The Hands Across the Water ride pushed us physically, mentally, and emotionally. Each day, we woke up with sore legs and aching bodies, knowing we still had hours in the saddle ahead.
But it was never about us.
How to run a marathon: the parallel of life
Twenty-six miles. Forty-two kilometres. Fifty-five thousand steps. And seventeen thousand litres of air — cold, hot, humid, or dry — through burning lungs.
I’m building this out as the lessons take place.
Not content for the sake of content. Or empty noise.
So, if you’ve ever had a thought or an idea that’s made you stop.
Or something that’s turned you 180 degrees from your previous beliefs.
I’d love to hear from you.
It can be anything at all.
And you can leave your name, or you can keep it private.
I also share more thoughts like this through my newsletter.
No fluff, nothing to sell, and no fixed cadence.
Just some things that never make it to socials or this website.
If you’d like to hear from me now and then, just select the type of content you’d like.
